A new operator is set to take over the food outlets at Blackpool Tower.
The company, which has not been named, will run the catering at six units within the attraction, including the ballroom tea bar, the Sea View Terrace and Jungle Jim’s Harbourside.
Legal agreements are being drawn up and the council, which owns the venue, has agreed to the changes which have been requested by the Tower’s operator Merlin.
A council report says “the specialist operator will fund all investment required” and that the move “will have a positive financial impact while enhancing the quality of the offer.”
The new catering arrangements will also take in the food offer at Madame Tussauds.
Iain Hawkins, head of the Merlin cluster of attractions in Blackpool, said: “It is about adding a level of quality and options for our visitors.
“Whatever we do it is always about adding value for our guests.
“The Tower has a great offer at the moment and it is important the food is part of that.”
Work is currently also underway to transform the Tower Lounge into a new family-themed restaurant.
