A MOTORSPORT company has helped young drivers realise their dream of competing on an international stage.
Race Drivers Inc, from Preesall, used their business to secure lucrative sponsorship deals for three drivers and manage their careers.
Managing director Baz Scott and operations director Rebecca Boardman were able to secure a deal worth hundred of thousands of pounds for Michael Lyons, a driver from Essex.
After securing the money, Michael was able to race in the F1 Historic race at Monaco and went on to take the chequered flag in first place.
The company’s other Essex drivers, Jake Rattenbury and Josh Wakefield raced at Silverstone last week and also finished on the podium.
Mr Scott said: “It was quite tough to bring all the elements together because getting the commitment from sponsors is sometimes quite hard.
“But it was amazing to see the deals come to fruition.
“Both drivers had a tough qualifying at Silverstone and were 25th on the grid.
“They raced in some very tough conditions so to see them on the podium was fantastic.”
Mrs Boardman added: “It’s great to see young racing drivers carrying on with their dream and it’s fun being at the races with them.
“We are now looking to get involved with a couple of local racing drivers.
“We work with all different levels of drivers in motorsport and can also help businesses with their sponsorship deals.”
