Blackpool’s most historic hotel, the Imperial is to be run on behalf of its new owner by a London management group.
Redefine BDL of Brentford will take charge of the North Shore, four star, listed building for the Singapore-based Fragrance Group.
John Stuart, Redefine BDL’s chief operating officer, said: “The Imperial Hotel Blackpool is an exciting addition to our growing portfolio and marks our first venture into the Blackpool market.
“Blackpool is one of the nation’s most beloved tourist destinations, and we’re very much looking forward to getting down to business in the resort, working alongside the property’s owners.”
It will be the 56th hotel run by the £220m turnover group which also has private label and branded properties, including IHG, Hilton, Accor, Marriott, Best Western and Wyndham hotels.
No details of any immediate plans have yet been revealed.
The 180 bedroom building which has played host to the likes of Winston Churchill was sold for £12.8m at the end of January.
It was formerly part of The Hotel Collection and features 180 guest rooms and 14 meeting rooms, accommodating up to 600 delegates plus a health club, swimming pool, children’s playroom and the popular Palm Court restaurant.
