TWO Blackpool firms were among the honours in the finals of a regional business awards.
The Ink Squid, based at Sycamore Trading Estate, Blackpool, won the Best Start Up Business category in the Red Rose Business Awards.
Winner of the Law Firm of the Year title was Napthens Solicitors which has an office at Whitehills Business Park.
More than 900 representatives of Lancashire business celebrated another fantastic 12 months of trading at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool when awards were handed out across 21 categories.
BBC Radio Lancashire presented Graham Liver compered the event. Adrian Meakin from The Ink Squid, which supplies printer ink cartridges over the internet said they were delighted to have won.
He added that the award came as the company, which is expanding, found out it had won a place on national supermarket chain Tesco’s website. He said: “If you search for ink cartridges on the Tesco site you will now find the brand-name cartridges (Epson, Canon, etc), Tesco’s own brand and The Ink Squid brand. We are the only independent brand name on the site, which is a massive coup for us and one we are very proud of.”
John Whittingslow, partner at Napthens, collected the award. He said: “Our focus over the past twelve months has been to deliver a service tailored specifically to what our clients, whether businesses or individuals, wanted.
