With the hosepipe ban set to come in across the region this weekend, United Utilities have cancelled the ban with only days to go.
Bosses at the firm have said that the slightly cooler temperatures, recent rainfall and reduction in customers’ water usage have helped ease the demand.

This in turn has helped water levels at reservoirs across the region, meaning there is not need to bring the restrictions in.

But the company has warned that it may still need to introduce a ban at a later stage if the dry weather continues throughout August or beyond.
