Companies from up and down the Fylde coast are signing up to take part in Trinity Hospice’s Corporate Challenge fund-raiser.
The firms, from sole traders to national names, are aiming to rise to the challenge and raise as much money as they can for the hospice in just four months.
Each team is given a £50 starter fund and challenged to turn it into much, much more by using their initiative.
Last year, firms raised a total of £48,000 for the hospice on Low Moor Road, Bispham, through a variety of schemes. But the hospice wants to top that this time as part of Trinity’s 30th birthday celebrations.
So far, businesses already signed up include the JMC Group, James Brearley & Sons, Voiteq,Smiths Equipment Hire, RNS Publications,TSB – both Fleetwood and Cleveleys branches – and Wareings buildings.
The starter funds have been donated by a generous sponsor, so every penny raised goes direct to patient care.
Janet Atkins is coordinating the challenge. She said: “There is still time to sign up and compete for the title of Corporate Challenge Champion 2015. All sorts of events are planned, and I know that the teams will come up with some truly ingenious ways of making money. Anything that’s legal, ethical and decent is allowed – in the past we have had car rallies, black tie balls, cake sales, treasure hunts and sponsored Zumba.”
