A qualified accountant and former commercial finance director is serving up a whole new career as a mobile cafe franchise.

Ian Dewhurst from Warton has launched Cafe2U, in Lytham, St Anne’s and Blackpool.

He is taking his bright red Cafe2U van out for its first tour of the area letting everyone know it has arrived with the catchy tune from the Godfather film playing on its airhorn.

He said: “After being made redundant, I looked for other opportunities to improve my work/life balance and escape the pressures of the corporate world.

“I started looking into franchises and came across Cafe2u which ticked all the boxes for me.

“I provide the highest quality espresso coffee, hot chocolate, premium teas and snacks to people in locations where they might not normally be able to get them.

“My customers get to know my routes and when I will be stopping by so they can get at least one great cup of coffee each day.”

Cafe2U launched its first prototype mobile cafe van in 2000 on Sydney’s northern beaches and rolled out its franchise four years later.
