Fylde coast chips family set to open Poulton restaurant

A Fylde coast family is set to open its sixth restaurant.

Seniors Fish and Chips open their new fish and chip restaurant and takeaway in Poulton town centre on Thursday at 11.30am.

The restaurant is in the Teanlowe Centre, adjacent to Queensway to the right of Costa Coffee.

The building has undergone an extensive period of refurbishment that’s seen a new shop frontage installed, a full fit-out and interior decoration.It has

also had new furniture and fittings to complete the transformation.

The new store has seating for 50 diners along with a takeaway counter and has created an additional 10 new jobs for the town.

As a new departure for the Seniors brand to add variety for customers, the Poulton store will also serve fresh, oven cooked chicken to eat in or takeaway.

Seniors is the family owned local chain of five fish and chip restaurants and takeaways, with stores at Normoss, Bispham, Lytham, St Annes, and Thornton which was crowned the UKs best takeaway in 2012.

Managing director Alastair Horabin said “With five Seniors shops here on the Fylde Coast we’re always looking at where the business could go next.

“This site at Poulton ticked all the boxes for us and we’re looking forward to being part of the town”.

Fish merchant Rick Horabin founded the business when he moved into retail fish and chips.

Now sons Alastair and Dominic Horabin are now at the forefront of the fish and chip empire, with big plans to drive the business forward for the future.

Winning the National Fish and Chip Awards had been an ambition of the family for many years.
