A BLUEPRINT for the future of Blackpool’s high rise flats will be unveiled today.

Housing chiefs are considering three options for Queens Park flats at Layton - including the possibility of demolishing the tower blocks.

Consultation began in June after the council revealed the estate is in desperate need of repair.

Maintenance is forecast to leave council tax-payers facing an £11m bill over the next 30 years.

The three options facing the council are to either demolish the whole estate and secure funding for a rebuilding programme, partial demolition and rebuilding, or to invest what money is available into the existing properties.

Residents are invited to an exhibition at the Boys and Girls Club at Laycock Gate starting at 1.30pm today.
