A NEW mobile phone store in St Annes is set to help a southern-based firm conquer the north.
Go Mobile, the third largest chain in the UK, has launched a branch in St Annes as the firm aims to break the market regionally.
A franchise outlet, the Orchard Road store is expected to be the first of many in Lancashire.
Manager Mike Carr said: “We deal with mobile phones, accessories and cover all of the networks.
“Business has been picking up since day one and we use Facebook and social networking to attract a lot of customers – that seems to be working with customers already saying they have seen the adverts.”
The business opened as a major revamp was finished on the road.
Mr Carr added: “We timed it to open bang on when the work was finished and it gives the shop a nice edge.”
St Annes Chamber of Trade co-ordinator Arnold Sumner said the store was the latest to open in the town which appeared to be undergoing a mini renaissance.
He added: “It’s very positive news we’re attracting new businesses such as this and a few have opened in the past few weeks.
“There has been a determination to regenerate Orchard Road and we’ve been waiting years and now it is looking really good.
“We like to think at the moment that St Annes in some respects is bucking the trend and we think that this store will do very well in the town.”
