FYLDE specialist box suppliers Alison Handling has completed its second major expansion in two years.

Following on from the increase in warehousing space in 2011, the Kirkham firm, established in 1988, has now invested in new offices for its expanding sales team.

The company is the UK’s largest stockist of new and used plastic containers which they buy and then ship out to customers nationwide and abroad.

Director Ray Hawley said: “Our strength lies in our very large stockholding of new and used plastic boxes in all styles, sizes and colours.

“They address the needs of all industry types including, engineering, manufacturing, retail, textiles, all food processing, fruit & vegetable harvesting, pharmaceutical, catering, healthcare, waste recycling and general storage.” He said the new offices built at the two-acre site on Freckleton road off the A583, were to allow the firm to have the opportunity to expand the business in the coming years.

He said Alison were a small family business with old fashioned values which believed that a company gets the best out of its staff by providing them with a happy working environment to encourage a warm and friendly atmosphere on a daily basis.

He added that this in turn they believe helps create an efficient customer service offering a pleasant and welcoming attitude to both new and existing customers.

Managing director Tony Dearden welcomed the expansion and said: “We are very pleased to have supplied plastic storage solutions to many household names such as WM Morrison’s, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, House of Fraser, British Gas, Procter & Gamble and Unilever.”
