AN energy consultancy which manages almost £1bn of gas and electricity for blue chip customers has been awarded a top title for the second year running.
St Annes-based Inenco has been named the UK’s Energy Consultant of the Year for its work to cut costs and carbon emissions for some of the country’s leading companies.
The accolade, given at the Energy Buying and Supplying Excellence Awards, recognises the contribution the company has made to help businesses identify how to reduce energy bills.
A spokesman for the awards said: “Decisions on award winners are given by both an expert panel of independent judges and a voting system. The awards are given for proven excellence beyond the competition within the last 12 months.”
Inenco’s growing portfolio of high-profile clients includes a number of the UK’s biggest companies, such as Marks & Spencer, BHS, Kellogg’s and The Spirit Group.
Inenco, based at Petros House, St Andrews Road North, has seen its workforce almost double in the past five years and now employs more than 220 people.
After receiving the award Inenco commercial director Karen Trepte said: “To win this award last year was great but to win again this year is fantastic.
“Our people work extremely hard to deliver results for our customers and this award reflects their dedication and drive for excellence.
“Keeping control of energy costs has been vital to our customers at a time of continued economic uncertainty and volatile energy prices.”
Inenco managing director, Michael Abbott, added: “We are very proud to win this coveted industry award for the second time in a row.
“This award is a huge endorsement for us.”
