A FYLDE firm which makes springs for the car industry has picked up two awards.
Performance Springs Ltd, based on the Queensway Industrial Estate, was the winner of the Company of the Year Award by the UK’s Northwest Automotive Alliance (NAA).
The firm exports around half of all the precision compression springs it produces. they find their way into vehicles where applications are demanding, particularly prestige car brands,
NAA award judges visited the company’s St Annes base and made an assessment based on a number of areas.
These included the company’s achievements during 2012, its business strategy and policy deployment process, and the product process flow.
The company’s quotation process, the product/process design and development, supplier selection, production and after-sales were all examined.
The judges also spoke to a number of employes.
Judges said the company was recognised for its many strengths, including its partnership approach with customers, design innovation, improved efficiency leading to quicker production times, and its highly motivated employees. Performance Springs also won a second accolade, the NAA Trade Company of the Year Award, sponsored by UKTI, which recognises a company’s export successes.
Around 50 per cent of Performance Springs’ products are exported, and this has been a key factor in the current successful growth of the company.
The awards were presented at the Northwest Automotive Alliance Dinner, sponsored by Bentley Motors.
