A newly-married couple are hoping to find the recipe for marital bliss and success in business.
For Marc and Sharon Bentley have taken the plunge and opened their own cafe in Blackpool.
Both have working backgrounds in the charity sector but had always dreamed of having their own cosy cafe, Bentley’s, in Dickson Road.
Marc said: “We started in October and have spent two months getting everything ready.
“We had to do quite a lot of work as the premises has been empty.
“Before that it was a shabby chic style shop.
“We both used to work in the charity sector with people with disabilities and I used to do work with the North West Blood Bikes people.
“It has always been a dream for us both since being very young to have our own cafe in Blackpool. We came across this venue and thought why not go for it.
“We only got married in February so it has been a busy year and we are only relatively young, I am 25 and Sharon is 23, so it has been a challenge.
“So far things are going OK, we have had quite a lot of customers coming back and the feedback we have had has been good.
“In the next couple of weeks we will be offering private parties and meetings.
“We have gone for the cosy homely effect.
“We had to use every last penny we had to get everything ready.
“My uncle is working with us part time, but we would love to grow the business and employ more staff.
“We offer breakfast, burgers, fast food and sandwiches and we are very keen to make sure no-one is left out as we cater for children, vegetarians and people who need gluten free produce and those with food intolerances.”
