Union leaders are due to hold talks with Wyre and Preston North MP Ben Wallace to discuss the need for more civil service jobs on the Fylde coast.
The PCS union has been pressing for more jobs following the closure of sites including Moorland Road in St Annes and the majority of the DWP site at Norcross.
It estimates this has resulted in the erosion of more than 3,000 jobs.
Branch secretary Duncan Griffiths said: “We will meet with Ben Wallace (on Friday) to discuss the future of the jobs that remain, and the potential for further employment.
“There have been additional jobs undertaking Personal Independence Payments, however this is set against a backdrop of reductions to the number of jobs on the Fylde area.
“We will also discuss the job security for the members remaining at DWP Norcross, who have been privatised to Steria.”
