THE line-up for The Gazette’s first free business networking event has been finalised.
Three keynote speakers will be on hand to share their expertise with the assembled guests at the Village Hotel, Preston New Road, Blackpool, on Tuesday.
Today we can reveal the speakers set to address more than 50 business owners at the event.
Tony Brown, from UK Trade and Industry, will inform delegates about branching out into overseas markets – and the funding available to help businesses do so.
He said: “I’m going to tell people why they should get involved in international trade.
“It seems very scary to some people to do so, but really it is not. The key thing is this, it’ll help your market grow from 60m people to 6bn.”
Tony will be joined by Steve Pye, chairman of the Fylde coast branch of the Federation of Small Businesses.
He will tell delegates about the Blackpool-based business support group and how it has grown into the huge organisation – boasting more than 200,000 members – it is today.
Steve will reveal how the organisation fights the corner of small businesses – on a local and national level.
And headlining the event is none other than Iain Hawkins, head of Merlin’s cluster of attractions in Blackpool.
In the week before he is set to reveal the revamped Blackpool Tower and Dungeon to the public, Iain will tell the gathering of his hopes for Blackpool and how his firm is helping attract thousands more visitors to the Fylde coast.
