A SUCCESSFUL young businesswoman has carved out a speaking career alongside her day job.
Nikki Hesford, 26, of Kirkham, has hit the headlines for the success of her Miss Fit and Big Bra Bar businesses – among others.
And it’s thanks to those successes that she has now found herself a regular on the lucrative business speaking circuit.
Nikki, whose clothing firm caters primarily for big busted women, will now appear at London’s O2 arena – formerly the Millennium Dome – on the same platform as the likes of Sir Richard Branson and Lord Sugar.
She’ll be speaking at Business 2012, the UK’s biggest business seminar in March alongside the biggest names in UK business.
Nikki told The Gazette: “I’m going to be a key speaker at Business North West and then Business 2012 on March 18.
“I’ve been on Radio One for a personal profile – business speaking is a by-product of the business and has helped to raise my profile.
“It has been an amazing journey. I’m really good friends with Kirsty Henshaw who came through Dragons Den and we speak at a lot of different events.”
And Nikki has quite a tale to tell – moving out of home at 16, a mum at 17, and then launching her business at the age of 21 after struggling to buy clothes when going for job interviews.
Her second clothing firm – The Big Bra Bar – turned over £25,000 in its first 10 days of operation.
She’s also acted as a mentor to other start-up firms and has several Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards to her name.
But business speaking doesn’t mean she’s taken her eye off her businesses.
Nikki added: “We’ve not conquered the UK by any stretch but we’re now looking at going to America as well.”
