Business leader to speak in county

The former CEO of Waitrose and deputy chairman of the John Lewis Partnership is coming to the county this month to deliver his first public lecture.

Lord Mark Price, formerly Minister of State at the Department for International Trade, is a former Lancaster University student and was appointed a Lancaster University Management School Honorary Professorial Fellow in 2017.

Lord Price said: “I have fond memories of my time spent as a student in Lancaster, and I am delighted to be returning to deliver my debut lecture.

“I will be talking about workplace happiness and why it matters so much to individuals, companies, and to wider society.

“Looking at the John Lewis Partnership model, I will discuss the factors that drive workplace happiness, and how businesses should measure employee happiness, and how to improve it.”

The free lecture, open to all, will take place on Thursday May 17 between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.
