Bosses at Pastels, based in a small unit in Victoria Road West, are busy renovating the former German Sausage House in Cedar Square ahead of a planned relaunch on Friday, October 6.

Co-owner Gage Dunsten, 28, said: “The space we have got is so small and we are limited to what we can do in the kitchen, and then we have only got four seats, outside.

“In Blackpool we will have 20 inside and 20 outside.”

The eatery hopes to land a licence from the council so it can sell alcoholic drinks between the hours of 11am and 11pm, The Gazette revealed last week.

And it will open up with a new menu, focusing on burgers, chicken wings, hotdogs, and milkshakes, Gage said.

Alongside business partner Michael Evans, 29, he looked at a range of possible locations before settling on the old sausage house.

“It seemed perfect for what we wanted,” he added, saying he hopes to get both passing and evening trade.
