LYTHAM’S Hannah Whiteley is a high-flyer in more ways than one ... and so is her dad!
Hannah has been crowned British ladies’ champion in the sport of kitesurfing for a record-breaking third consecutive year.
She braved the elements and the sea to show skill and nerve throughout the season to come out on top.
And it was a real family affair as her father Peter was crowned champion in the seniors’ category.
Blackpool staged the final event of the 2011 British Championships, but Peter and Hannah already had unbeatable points totals of 4,650 and 4,415 respectively. Both decided not to compete in the Bispham event, knowing that their titles were secure.
Lytham’s Ali Barrett is also a top competitor in the main men’s division.
