Bottle ‘attack’ teenager may lose sight

A partygoer accused of smashing a bottle of Bacardi on the skull of a teenager – causing him serious eye and facial injuries – has made his first appearance in court.

The 18-year-old boy who was hit had emergency surgery at Blackpool Victoria Hospital and may lose his sight, the court heard.

The offence is said to happened outside a Fleetwood home on Sunday.

Joseph Baker, 18, of South Park Drive, Marton, is charged with maliciously wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Preston Crown Court on 
December 22.
