The church, on Victoria Road East, Thornton, hosts a coffee morning each month, which includes cakes and card stalls, a tombola, bric-a-brac, books and activities for children. The event aims to be fun for all the family and give members of the local community a chance to get together.

This month’s coffee morning raised £200, which will go back into church funds to be used for future events.

“The idea is to provide a get-together, it’s about community spirit, friendship and creating a space for people from Thornton and Cleveleys to be able to meet up, catch up, chat to people and make new friends.

“It’s for all age groups, we have family crafts and activities taking place, and it’s for everybody – not just members of the church.

“Anyone is welcome to come along.”

The next coffee morning takes place on February 20, at 10am, at the church.
