Blur show sells-out in just two minutes

Tickets for Blur’s Blackpool Empress Ballroom gig sold out in a startling two minutes.

The gig, on Wednesday, June 10, is one of three warm up shows ahead of the Britpop heroes’ Hyde Park and festival shows this summer.

Winter Gardens managing director Michael Williams said the sales on Friday morning has been ‘one of the fastest’ the venue had ever had.

“People were in the queue from 5am to buy in person at the box office, and within two minutes, 3,500 tickets were gone,” he said.

Tickets were also on sale by phone and through several online outlets.“

Mr Williams added: “It’s only in a month’s time, and it’s great for the resort as people will be travelling from across the UK for it as they have for The Prodigy this weekend.”
