In bloom for flower judges

A TOWN is looking blooming brilliant as it bids for floral glory on the national stage.

It is a big week for the Lytham committee, with judges from North West in Bloom due to visit today before the town goes under the spotlight for Britain in Bloom next Thursday.

And a brand new Britannia display has been installed in the town’s Market Square to help the town blow away the competition.

St Annes, Wrea Green, Ansdell and Freckleton have also welcomed the North West judges this week.

At one point the poor weather meant Lytham’s plans were two weeks behind schedule, but Jim Leak, Lytham In Bloom chairman, said: “It has been a busy time because of the weather and also the build-up to The Open but everything is in place now and looking good, and we are looking forward to the judges arrival.”
