Blackpool suit hire woe after firm goes into administration

Customers left stranded over suit hire after menswear chain Greenwoods went into administration must make a claim to try to get money back.

The firm, based in Bradford, has appointed Adrian Berry and Claire Boardman of Deloitte as Joint Administrators.

Mr Berry said: “We are currently assessing the options available to the company, including a potential sale of the business, and are continuing to trade it in the meantime.

“No redundancies are being announced at this stage and we are grateful to the employees for their support at this difficult time.

“This is a challenging time for the UK retail sector, which has affected the company.”

The company, founded in 1860 and which has 80 stores, is continuing to trade but is unable to supply hire suits in many stores where it does not own the items.

Anyone who paid deposits on a credit card is being asked to contact their card company.

Other customers who have suffered due to Greenwoods’ failure to supply, may claim as an unsecured claim in the Administration of Greenwoods using a proof of debt form on the Deloitte website.
