A Blackpool shopping centre was evacuated following a "bomb scare", say police.

Officers were called to the Hounds Hill Centre just before 9.30am on Tuesday, after an unattended bag was found at the centre.

Police say they put a cordon in place and evacuated the area.

A police spokesman said: "We were called this morning to reports that an unattended bag had been found at the shopping centre.

"A cordon was put in place and the area was evacuated while emergency services attended and investigated."

The bag was deemed non-suspicious and the cordon was lifted shortly after.
