A never-before-seen festival is coming to Blackpool, and is expected to bring with it 8,000 people.
Billed as the largest indoor festival to hit the North West, Blackpool Rocks is one night of live music featuring some of the biggest names in music history,
The evening will see seven rooms set up at the Winter Gardens on December 21, presented by Radio 1 DJ Danny Howard, Randy Ron’s co-owner Alex Huckerby and Lytham Proms organisers Cuffe and Taylor.
Festival director Danny said: “This is the first time, in a very long time that Blackpool will experience an event of this size and trust me when I say it’s long over-due.
“It will be a true indoor festival affair with a line up featuring A-List superstars within their respected genres including Dance, Indie, Urban and much more.
“I’m very proud of what we’re about to unleash onto the North West music scene, so standby for the biggest event that our incredible seaside town has seen in years. This is just the start of the innovative, unique movement that is Blackpool Rocks.”
The manager of HMV Blackpool, Neil Carpenter, says Blackpool Rocks will help encourage more home-grown talent.
He said: “The music scene of Blackpool is changing – it’s getting bigger and better.
“There is a lot of talent about and we want to stop people leaving Blackpool to play their music.
“There’s definitely a market out there for things like this, and we’ve got the venues. If you’ve got an event that can sell out a venue in this town, you’re going to attract more people.”
“This is fantastic news.”
