MP Gordon Marsden has signed Greener UK’s “Pledge for the Environment” to show his support for environmental protections as Britain begins the process of leaving the EU.

The pledge calls MPs to do everything in their power to establish the UK as a world leader on the environment by committing to match or exceed current environmental, wildlife and habitat protections and ensure the UK leads on climate change.

It also calls on the UK be a world leader in sustainable marine and fisheries management. Mr Marsden said: “I am very pleased to sign Greener UK’s Pledge for the environment and it links to the points I made at my Cleaner Greener Blackpool event at the Solaris Centre last year.
