A man accused of stealing a £30,000 JCB in a burglary at a farm has made his first appearance at court.

Lewis Adams, 22, of Lynn Grove, North Shore, is charged with burgling a barn at Blackleach House Farm, Catforth, stealing the JCB on December 6 last year.

Adams is also accused of taking a JCB without consent from Pinfold Farm, Preston, the day after on December 7.

He is further alleged to have received a stolen Honda Cross motorbike.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, asked for the case to be heard at crown court.

Beth Mantel, defending, said her client would not indicate pleas at this stage.

Adams was bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court on July 1.
