A Blackpool man who suffered serious injuries in a head-on horror collision has died in hospital.
Peter Dodd, 50, was driving a Renault Clio when it collided head on with another car close to the helter skelter roundabout on Yeadon Way at 1pm on Wednesday.
He was taken to hospital with internal injuries and died at 5pm on Thursday.
Police say Mr Dodd’s car was heading east, away from Blackpool, when it first collided with a Peuegout 207 and then an Alfa Romeo, which were both travelling in the opposite direction.
Mr Dodd, from central Blackpool, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he lost his fight for life.
A 36-year-old man and his wife from Coventry, who were in the Alfa Romeo, were taken to hospital with pelvic and whiplash injuries.
A man and his wife on holiday from Scotland, in the Peugeot, were unhurt.
Sgt Adam Lloyd, from the Road Policing Unit, said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the collision to come forward and contact us.
“In particular I would urge anyone who has been following the Clio out of Blackpool on Yeadon Way prior to the collision to contact us. We have specially trained officers supporting Mr Dodd’s family at this very sad time.”
