Here’s what the weather is set to be like for the Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On event.

Fortunately, August 31 is set to be bright and sunny throughout the day, with peak temperatures of around 20C.

The day will begin with sunny spells and bursts of pure sunshine, with temperatures climbing to 18C by lunchtime.

The afternoon is set to be warm and bright, reaching the peak temperature of 20C by 3pm.

Gates usually open on Tower Headland from 4pm on Switch On Night, with sunny spells and temperatures of 20C expected at this time.

Sunny intervals are set to take place until around 8pm, when the temperature will then begin to slowly dip.

The Switch-On event usually finishes around 10pm and the temperature at this time will be around 16C.
