Head of fund-raising and voluntary services Amanda Bennett said: “This is an exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to give a few hours a week helping local patients and their families.

“Our volunteers are highly valued as they provide an excellent service which we wouldn’t otherwise have.

“Coming into hospital can be a very daunting experience, but our navigators help to remove the stress of finding your appointment, and our Blue Skies Shop volunteers offer a small treat to perk up a hospital day while raising welcome funds for charity.

“That money goes back into enhancing the patient experience.”

Money raised in the blue Skies Shop goes to support the Trust’s charity, the Blue Skies Hospital Fund.

Training will be provided for both volunteer roles.

Anyone interested in getting involved is asked to contact the fund-raising and voluntary services team on (01253) 957381 before Monday July 13.

Informal interviews will take place on July 27 and 28.
