THE devastated parents of a teenage girl who lost her fight for life following a horror crash today said: “We don’t want to believe she’s gone.”
Popular Elysia Ashworth, from St Annes, was a passenger in a silver Vauxhall Corsa when it skidded off the road and smashed into a tree on Division Lane, Marton.
The 17-year-old suffered serious damage to her liver and a fractured spine in Monday night’s crash and was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital, where she died yesterday.
Her parents Maxine and Chris Ashworth had kept a bedside vigil.
Mrs Ashworth, of Ulverston Crescent, said: “She had everything – she was the most beautiful, intelligent child. She was adored by many, she was going places.”
