Ryan Davies and his trainer dad Mark opened Davies Boxing Gym, a professional boxing and fitness gymnasium in Brinwell Road on February 1.

The gym at the Clifton Trade Park has been a lifelong ambition of the father and son team, who said they had ploughed a significant amount into the new venture.

Now the Davies gym has teamed up with RDX Sports, the noted fight brand, to become an Official Partner Club to the boxing, mixed martial arts and sportswear manufacturer and retailer.

It means the gym is now a part of the RDX Partner Club Program, which aims to provide industry focused experience and support to help stimulate the growth of businesses in the boxing and fitness industry.

This partnership also allows clients to buy exclusive RDX products directly from the gym, at discounted prices, while the gym will be supplied with a range of products and equipment to enhance the facility.

RDX, whose brand ambassador is unbeaten heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua, carefully identifies potential partners and Davies Boxing Gym are one of only a select few in the UK to be given this status.

Ryan said: “Opening my own boxing gym has been a dream of mine and when this opportunity presented itself it was simply too good to ignore.

“I am proud of what we have created and the gym is exactly how I always imagined my own place to look.

“We are excited about becoming an official RDX Partner Club and are looking forward to working closely with them, to benefit the gym and also myself, as a professional boxer, in terms of cutting edge technology and equipment and an association with a globally recognised brand.

“This partnership will offer our clients both unique and exciting opportunities courtesy of RDX with the chance to be the first to test new products, kit and equipment.”

John Miller, Business Development Manager for RDX Sports said: “We are thrilled to be working with Blackpool’s newest boxing gym and also a successful, developing professional boxer like Ryan.

“Partnership is essential to RDX’s goal of making a meaningful impact by uniting forces, and incorporating professional skills. This relationship seeks to leverage the strengths of both RDX and Davies Boxing Gym to co-develop and co-promote next generation sports and fitness gear for professional athletes and novices.”
