It was a big day for little ones, but a day enjoyed by all.
A Big Toddle, in aid of Barnardos, took place at Fairy Godmother Childminding, in Thornton.
The event was organised by Linda Irvin, who started her childminding business last year.
Mum Linda decided to leave her career of 13 years, as a primary school teacher, to start up her firm after the birth of her own daughter, Isabella, now two.
The business has already grown and looks set to expand again.
Linda organised a short walk to mark the Big Toddle followed by a picnic at her home for children and their families.
She said: “I thought it would be nice to just bring the families together and have a real community event.
“It was a huge success.
“Lots of families joined us for the walk and we had a lovely picnic in the garden on our return and we gave out the medals to the children for doing the walk.
“I wanted to raise money and raise awareness of the charity.
“As I’ve worked with children for a long time, I feel it is a really important charity.”
