BLACKPOOL FC have announced a two-year sponsorship contract extension with controversial loan firm has enjoyed the partnership so far, and plans to continue creating activities to entertain the crowd at Bloomfield Road on match days. They will also provide fans with further opportunities to win money-can’t-buy prizes.

Seasiders chairman Karl Oyston said: “I’m very pleased Wonga has committed to the club for the next two seasons. Given the current economic climate, I’m delighted the club has the security of a shirt sponsor for the next two years and, without doubt, the best shirt sponsor we have ever been involved with.

“Not only have they committed a substantial sum of money to the club in sponsorship, they have been actively involved in fundraising for the Jimmy Armfield statue with the BSA and they have also made significant donations to several local charities and I know from my own experience the half time Wonga Cash Dash Zorb race is something different.””

Errol Damelin, founder and CEO of, added: “We have really enjoyed our first season and it’s been just as exciting as we predicted.

“We’re looking forward to building on our relationship over the next two seasons, and we hope the supporters have enjoyed the activities so far, such as the half-time Wonga Cash Dash and the Wonga Player of the Month awards programme.”
