More than 25 speciality beers and ciders, along with 20 different wines, were available at the four-day event and the Vernon Road pavilion was packed to capacity on several occasions, notably on the Saturday, which was particularly busy.

Live music on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday proved popular and club chairman John Cotton said: “It was a great festival. We put it back this year from May to July and that worked well. Saturday was especially busy, with plenty of people enjoying the cricket as well as the ales. It is likely that we will stick with a July date from now on.”

Next major event at the club is a family fun day planned for the Sunday of the August Bank Holiday weekend, August 28.
