A celebration day being held tomorrow will mark the opening of a newly built resource centre to support adults with autism in Blackpool.

The ‘A Shed’ has been developed at the Blackpool Centre of Independent Living on Whitegate Drive, aimed at providing a space for people on the autism spectrum to get support and training.

A garden has also been built at the back of building where people can learn about growing plants and flowers.

The celebration day, which is open for anyone to attend, is between 10am and 3pm, with Blackpool Mayor Coun Kath Rowson and Coun Amy Cross attending and officially opening the ‘A Shed’.

Providers of disability services in Blackpool including Empowerment, Disability First, and the Carers Trust will also be available on the day to offer advice.
