Motorists have been assured everything is being done to re-open a key link road in south Fylde.
Members and leading officers from Fylde Council and highways authority Lancashire County Council will meet again this week to discuss the stalemate, which has seen Wild Lane, linking Ansdell with the M55, and known locally as the Moss Road, closed since summer.
Repairs estimated at more than £300,000 are required, and the most recent estimates have been that it will be another year before it can re-open.
But County Coun Paul Hayhurst, who represents Fylde and has been campaigning for a solution to the problem, said: “I can assure the public that everything possible is being done to try to solve this very important issue.
“We all realise how vital it is that this route is available again as soon as possible.”
