Arrest made after robbery at bookmakers

Staff at a Blackpool bookmakers were forced to hand over cash during a robbery last night (Friday).

Police said that around 9pm a man walked into Ladbrokes in Coronation Street, carrying a bin bag.

Staff reported that he pointed something in the bag at them, demanded money, and asked them to put it in the bag before leaving the scene.

At around 3am today (Saturday) a man matching the description of the offender was arrested on suspicion of robbery and is in custody.

No guns have been recovered and the police are at this stage, unsure what was pointed at the bookmakers.

Nobody was hurt.
