The 10 tangerine shirts, which feature the club crest and ‘Armfield 2’, were worn following the ex-Pool and England captain’s death from cancer at the age of 82.

They were given to Trinity Hospice, where Mr Armfield was president, by the club to raise money for the charity.

Last week, Blackpool pledged almost £11,000 in ticket sales to Trinity Hospice, in Low Moor Road, Bispham, where boss David Houston later spoke of his gratitude at the club’s ‘very generous gesture.’

The sum means the hospice has raised around £20,000 since Mr Armfield’s death on Monday, January 22.
