TV’s Apprentice finalist Susan Ma, recently said “You’re Hired!” to Blackpool woman, Julia Bradley.
Former Lytham St Annes Express advertising manager, Julia, has just trained as an ambassador for 2011 Apprentice finalist Susan Ma’s natural skin care and active botanical cosmetic range, Tropic.
Entrepreneur Lord Alan Sugar, kingpin of the Apprentice TV reality show, spoke to the new ambassadors at the launch of Tropic’s summer beauty catalogue at Hertfordshire University.
“He said in this life you don’t get anything for nothing, and that hard work is the key to success,” explained Julia, who lives with partner, Grant, in South Shore, and has a son, Jack, 16.
During her 12 years with the Lytham St Annes Express, Julia’s clients included Stringers, JRTaylor, Lytham Clinic, Pure Mischief, Charles Stuart Menswear, Carpets of Lytham and Sigma 3.
“I can verify that Lord Sugar has a firm handshake and soft hands,” she laughed. “Perhaps he’s been using some of the Tropic products!”
Julia also works part-time in the office of Paul Gaunt Furniture, Blackpool.
London-based Susan Ma,23, who was placed third in the TV series, was contacted by Lord Sugar after the final episode, when he asked her to submit a business plan.
Lord Sugar’s wife was invited to test Susan’s products and she loved them.
With a few adjustments to her business plan, the deal was done.
Susan received a £250,000 investment, and a 50/50 business partnership agreement with the entrepreneur.
Like Lord Sugar, she had experience selling at a street market.
Susan made and sold her first 20 jars of body scrub at the age of 15 on her mother’s Greenwich market stall.
Her Tropic skin revive nourishing cream has been named top brand of the month by Natural Health Magazine.
Women in the South Fylde and Blackpool area will be able to buy the products at home-based parties or at small pamper sessions.
“It was fantastic to meet Lord Sugar and Susan Ma,” she said.
“And I’m thrilled to be involved in the launch of such fantastic products at the start of this exciting business.”
