A 14-year-old girl missing from her Preston home is thought to be in Blackpool.

Police said Shelby Smith was last seen by her mother near to B&M Bargains in Preston city centre around 2.15pm on Monday.

She was due to return to her Ingol home at 5pm but failed to return and has not been in contact with her family since.

Inspector Bilal Mulla said: “Shelby is vulnerable due to her age so I would appeal to anybody that thinks they have seen her or knows where she could be to contact the Police.”

Shelby is described as being 5ft 2ins tall, with shoulder length brown hair and blue eyes.

She was last seen wearing black jeans, a black Nirvana t-shirt, and black Converse trainers, and was carrying a black rucksack.

Police said it is possible that she has made her way to the Blackpool area and could be in company with a 19 year old man, described as white, approximately 5ft 10ins, very slim build, blue eyes with a shaved head.

Anyone with any information is urged to call police on 101.
