The St Annes Branch of the Royal British Legion launches its poppy appeal in Lytham and St Annes today.
Collectors will be out this morning, but the Legion is still appealing for volunteers to help raise funds by selling poppies on the street.
Last year collectors raised a record £39,500 and the Legion hopes to do even better this year.
More than £820,000 was raised in Lancashire.
The money collected will go towards helping former sevicemen and women with war pension and compensation claims, welfare help, financial advice, funding care homes and family breaks.
Anyone who can help in collecting should contact the legion on 01253 713925, 07864 103200 or 01253 728485
