Despite fines of £5,000, fly-tipping has reached up to 400 incidents per year in Fylde.
Phil Dent, Fylde Council’s senior environmental protection officer, said: “We used to have regular hot-spots which we could monitor with cameras. The semi-professional fly-tippers now know about the cameras and they, and other anti-social elements, now appear to be using randomly chosen streets and roads.”
Every incident is investigated by council staff and if clues, such as letters containing addresses, are left people will be prosecuted.
Anyone with knowledge of fly-tipping is asked to call council officers on (01253) 658658.
