The sessions at Hope Street Pavilion, St Annes (Mondays), Lower Lane Community Centre, Freckleton (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and Walter Avenue Methodist Church, St Annes (Wednesdays and Fridays) will run until Friday, August 31 – apart from the bank holiday Monday on August 27.

Intended for youngsters aged from seven to 11, they have been rolled out following a successful pilot scheme last year, to cover more venues and more activities thanks to external funding.

A Fylde Council spokesman said: “Thanks to the funding from Progress Housing’s Community Investment Fund and the Lytham Schools Foundation, we are able to build on the success of last year’s pilot and extend the programme.

“The sessions will run from 9am to 1pm and include sporting activities, arts and crafts and cooking tips as well as a nutritious meal and healthy snacks.”

Parental consent forms will be available at the venues on the day.
