All set for Clifton Academy's Showcase

The 2018 Showcase from the award-winning Clifton Academy begins tonight at Lowther Pavilion.

The annual evening event, which runs at Lowther Pavilion until Saturday, displays a variety of entertainment from the company’s huge cast of more than 100 youngsters.

The students will be performing an array of genres including ballet, tap, modern, street jazz, ballroom and Latin, contemporary, pop choir and musical theatre.

Clifton Academy has been going from strength to strength having already performed two full-scale musicals at the Lowther since January – ‘Sister Act’ and ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’. Not forgetting their huge success in 2017 after being nominated for seven NODAS awards for their production of ‘Urinetown’.Showcase 2018 will be the last show up north for recurring leading lady Erin Bannister who has received a full scholarship at the Urdang Academy to study Musical Theatre.

Principals Amy Appleton and Sarah Cosgrove say “We are so sad to see Erin go as she has been with us since she was tiny. But we wish her the best of luck.”
