All revved up for the classic car show

More than 200 cars and motorbikes – including ex-military vehicles, MGs, Triumph Stags, Austin Sevens and Land Rovers – were on show at the lawns of the Georgian house.

The show, organised by Mark Woodward Classic Events, offered visitors a chance to speak to the exhibitors, pick up a rare or discontinued part, bag a bargain or just enjoy browsing the many displays.

The best in show award went to a Jaguar E-Type, belonging to Brian Beckley.

Simon Thorpe, project manager for Lytham Hall, said: “It was a really good day. There were probably 200 plus classic vehicles and around 1,000 visitors on the day.

“We had cars from pre-Second World War, right through the decades up the 80s.

“There were some showers later on, but the rain did not stop play.

“It was another successful event enjoyed by all. We have already booked again for next year.

“The next classic vehicle event at Lytham Hall will be a vintage bus day on Bank Holiday Monday, August 31.”

Mark Woodward, organiser of the event, said: “We had a full house and a record number of entries of classic cars – we couldn’t have fitted any more in.

“It was a great day and Lytham Hall is a really good venue – classic vehicles and historic houses go hand-in-hand.”
