Have your say

AFTER 28 years’ service in the NHS, Gillian White, speech and language therapist has set up an independent speech and language therapy practice for children called Happy Talk Speech and Language Therapy Ltd, in Poulton.

Gillian says: “Having listened to families and service users for many years, I now feel I have the opportunity to realise their expectations of an efficient, effective speech and language therapy Service, one that is flexible and responsive to demand.”

Happy Talk provides assessment of children’s speech, plus language and communication skills. Individual or group therapy, as appropriate, is provided at the centre and home visits can be arranged.

Happy Talk also offers a school-based speech and language therapy service, providing assessment and therapy in schools with additional support for families and staff via a resource centre and web-based home-work facility.

Happy Talk delivers a range of training courses for practitioners who work with children in schools and early years settings. In addition workshops for families aim to empower parents and carers with strategies they can use to support their children’s speech, language and communication development.

Should families or other interested parties wish to contact Happy Talk, a free confidential consultation service is available on (01253) 891465, mobile: 07983 587528, e-mail: or visit our website at
