A CALM cool break from the recent wet weather lent a mist-erious air to the Fylde coast and allowed our photographers to get some atmospheric shots.

Some of our best know landmarks dissolved into the fog which wrapped the county in gloom.

The Tower’s top was well hidden from view and the seed pod sculptures near Central Pier looked like something from an alien landing as mist blanketed the resort.

Charles Powell from the Met Office said the fog was formed by a drop in temperature to the dew point, where water condenses out of the air, and the light winds which lift it just above ground level.
